Just a reminder to the Upper School Kids. Even if you have a valid driver's license, you still need a letter from your parents allowing you to borrow a car from the school. And yes, I will call your folks to verify that they gave you parental permission, so don't bother trying to pull a fast one on me.

In other news, there will be a sign up sheet in my office for hours at the shop. Consider it an internship sort of thing.

Is there still a car available that I might be able to borrow sometimes? Haven't been able to save up enough to get my own yet. Maybe this year.

Sure. More than one. Drop by sometime and I'll give you a key to the garage and show you the ones that you can take out whenever you want. Obviously, you don't need a permission slip.

I've got the note from my dad! I'll bring it to you soon as I'm there. I'm hoping he buys me a car in January, for my birthday, but that's months away.

And I'll still call him and check, Jinx. That's how it goes.

I'm not going to forge his signature. He'd totally kill me if I did. Besides, you know he let Shane and Samuel borrow a car. Why wouldn't he let me?

This year, I'm asking Mom. Daddy is soooo uptight! :(

I don't know why they let me get my license. They hardly ever let me drive anywhere! It's sooooo unfair!

It's that whole practical thing. They let me drive some this summer, like to take Sarah to her gymnastics class, or to the park, or oh, whenever Sarah had to be somewhere. Although I'm betting that if Shane hadn't had a job, they would've had him drive instead.

Doesn't take long for "could you run to the store for me?" to get ooooold.....
